SVP, Chief Information Security Officer, Fulton Bank
Barth Bailey is the SVP, Chief Information Security Officer for Fulton Bank. He is a native resident of Lancaster County Pennsylvania located in the heart of what is known as Pennsylvania Dutch Country. As a seasoned Information Technology and Cyber Security Professional with over 35 years of experience, he has seen the information technology industry evolve from the days of the original IBM PC and the original Apple Macintosh computer. Barth has been directly involved with cyber security from the very first viruses and exploits to impact PC’s and the Internet.
With a broad and deep expertise in the technology and cyber security fields, Barth has been in a variety of roles. These roles included pre-sales and post-sales technology consulting for a global consulting firm, distributed systems architecture and design, data and voice infrastructure network architecture, network operations, telecommunications, security operations, and cyber security. Barth has been with Fulton Bank since 1998 and is currently the Chief Information Security Officer, a role he has occupied since January of 2014. Prior roles at Fulton Bank include Vice President, Network Infrastructure and Security.
Barth has a proven track record of success and longevity as a result of driving desired business outcomes through practical application of knowledge, effective teambuilding, and execution. In his current role he has provided leadership around the rapid evolution and maturity of the Information Security Program at Fulton Bank. This effort included a material commitment of resources and expertise and participation in the industry effort around the development of the Financial Services Sector Cybersecurity Profile. Fulton Bank was also an early adopter of the Cybersecurity Profile utilizing a pilot version in 2018 and utilizing the release version of the profile in place of the FFIEC CAT assessment in 2019.
Barth keeps abreast of the latest developments in cyber security and the current threat environment through active participation in a number of industry groups which include FS-ISAC, BITS, ABA, Midsize Bank Coalition of America, InfraGard, and ISACA. Barth also participates in Department of Treasury and DHS Cyber Threat Briefings.
