Head of Business and Government Cybersecurity Partnerships, DTCC
Jason Harrell is the Head of Business and Government Cybersecurity Partnerships for DTCC. In this role, he is responsible for engaging with internal stakeholders and external trade associations, government agencies and officials, regulators and supervisors to respond to new cyber legislation, ensure that the organization is meeting its cyber compliance obligations, and provide thought leadership within the industry. He also leads the strategic development and delivery of the Business Information Security Office (BISO), a function that engages all business areas within the organization in the delivery of cyber risk management services across operations. Jason was previously the Head of TRM Risk Analysis and Reporting where he developed the risk assessment program and cyber risk performance management program.
Prior to his roles at DTCC, Jason was the Corporate Senior Information Risk Officer for BNY Mellon Investment Management where he led the design and delivery of cybersecurity services across BNY Mellon Investment Management. He previously held several cyber security-related positions within IT, Risk and Business Operations at BNY Mellon, ABN AMRO, Royal Bank of Scotland and the New York Board of Trade.
Jason has over 20 years of experience in Information Technology (IT), Privacy, and Cybersecurity Risk Management experience within financial services. He is a regular speaker at cybersecurity events and author of numerous articles on cybersecurity and resilience. He holds numerous IT, privacy, and security certifications. Jason is also a supporter of DTCCs Diversity and Inclusion activities and is an LBGTQ ally.
