Angela Patel is a Senior Vice President for the Cyber Risk Institute. She previously built and led the enterprise risk management program at Amazon Web Services (AWS). In this role, she advised the Board of Directors, executive leaders, auditors, and global regulators on material governance, risk, and compliance topics spanning AWS’s Security, Infrastructure, Products and Services, and Corporate functions.

Prior to joining AWS, Ms. Patel managed large risk programs at both Capital One and Pentagon Federal Credit Union, and established Deloitte’s ERM center of excellence in the Middle East and North Africa. In each of these roles, Ms. Patel worked with internal and external customers to develop scalable risk solutions including strategy, policy, ongoing assessments, tactical remediation, data and technology integration, regulatory readiness, and multi-stakeholder reporting.

Ms. Patel has a B.S. in Finance from the University of Kentucky and an executive M.B.A. from Georgetown University. She holds certifications in security, privacy, and business continuity and is a certified six sigma black belt. Ms. Patel is on the boards of the National Defense University in Washington D.C. and the Lift Me Up Organization in Great Falls, VA. She currently resides in Leesburg, VA.
