Translations support adoption of the CRI Profile across Latin America and expand access to harmonized cyber risk management resources for the global financial sector.

Mexico City, Mexico – The Cyber Risk Institute (CRI) is pleased to announce the release of Spanish and Portuguese translations of the CRI Profile and Guidebook. The translations, supported by Mastercard and completed by BGBG, were released today at a launch event in Mexico City. This event will convene financial institutions, payment system providers, and security organization leaders from across the region.

The Spanish and Portuguese translations are designed to assist financial institutions and regulatory authorities in implementing harmonized approaches to cybersecurity, operational resilience, and technology risk management. This initiative comes at a time of increasing focus in the region on cybersecurity for payment systems, cyber standards and benchmarking frameworks, and broader cyber legislation initiatives.

“Our goal is to make the CRI Profile a globally trusted framework for the financial sector,” said Josh Magri, CRI Founder and CEO. “Making the Profile and Guidebook available in Spanish and Portuguese supports broader adoption, more consistent implementation, and more effective dialogue between financial institutions and regulators across Latin America. We are very grateful to Mastercard and BGBG for their partnership in making these translations possible.”

“Strong cyber resilience depends on clear, practical guidance,” said Michael Lashlee, chief security officer of Mastercard. “By supporting these translations, we’re helping expand access to a common framework that connects cyber threats to real‑world controls — supporting financial institutions and regulators across Latin America as they work to protect payment systems and strengthen resilience.”

“The Mexican firm bgbg is honored to support the Cyber Risk Institute and this important initiative to expand access to high-quality cybersecurity resources across Latin America. Making the CRI Profile and Guidebook available in Spanish and Portuguese helps promote accessibility, consistency, and a shared technical language for financial institutions, payment system participants, and regulatory authorities throughout the region. We believe that initiatives like this strengthen dialogue, facilitate implementation, and contribute to a more harmonized approach to cybersecurity, operational resilience, and technology risk management in the financial sector,” said Miguel Gallardo Guerra, partner, bgbg.

CRI extends its gratitude to Mastercard for sponsoring this work and to BGBG for their expertise in translating the Profile and Guidebook.
